A Clear Omen of Disaster

Description

The moon hove up over the horizon, swollen, misshapen and gibbous, looking for all the world like an enormous rotting orange. Flynn, lost in recollection, scarcely noticed. He sucked on his pipe, found it dead and cold, and chomped on the stem instead. Aye, it was just like Lucenza, that proud hasty impetuous ill-tempered miss, to blame a man when he was blameless. And stubborn--stubborn mulish obstinate and obstreperous to boot! It was just like her to come back from the dead and be tormenting a man, when he had much more important things to be attending to!

I did ten illustrations for the book, not counting the frontispiece, which I have already posted here. They are in a combination of pen, ink wash, and gouache. I will be posting them one by one in the coming weeks. Please check out the link above; the book is a fun read, and everyone involved worked really hard on it. I'm excited that it's available to the public at last! Thanks!

No, I must resist looking at picture... must not give in to peaking at one of the book's inside illustrations. Oh darn... I have no will power. =D How awesome. I love that moon! ^^ It must've felt pretty good to illustrate your own book- not many authors can do that lol.
